Thinking Outside the Napa
Back and bloggier than ever

Locally made

Toasted, but not burnt..

Consider this the new Pyramid..

Hello friends, back from vacation to dish on what's good in this month's wine tab…

I love Napa and Sonoma as much as the next oenophile (that's a fancy way of saying wine fan.)

But one of the great things about our stores being locally based is that we can bring you great wines around your store. You can find them in the store under the "local" sign.

I'd talk about them but then the folks who don't get them in their area will be mad at me. So just go and take a peek, 'kay?

Now if you’re looking for wines from other California regions, I’d suggest checking out wines from Ironstone (on sale for about 6 smackers) and Toasted Head (about 10).

Ironstone is based in the tiny town of Murphys in the Foothills. Toasted Head’s home base is Dunnigan Hills, tucked away in Yolo County.

I mention these two wineries because both have earned a reputation for producing quality wines at a budget-friendly price point. (And if you visit either one, they’re super friendly.)

I’d humbly suggest the Ironstone Zin and the Toasted Head Chardonnay or Cab. Perhaps with the oh-so-yummy cheese of the month, Denhay Farm, which is a slight obsession of mine.

Ironstone Wines are SO Fantastic! I especially love the Ironstone Obsession. Its so YUMMY!  -  (VP-ATF 10/22/08 @ 12:08 PM)
