Don’t know if you noticed on this month’s fabulous wine tab that we’re feeling a little pretty in pink (also the theme for this month’s wine tasting party!)
Don’t like sweeter wines? You can still enjoy a rosé.
While white zinfandels are known for their sweet flavor, traditional French rosés actually have a dry, crisp flavor that’s completely refreshing (keep this in mind for those hot Northern California – Northern Nevada days of summer!)
Three I’ve tried:
• Folie a Deux Rose
At under $10, a great introduction to less sweet rosés, although still with a tiny hint of sweetness.
• Coppola Sofia Pinot Noir Rosé
A drier rosé, very much in the French style – a few bucks over $10.
• Chandon Rosé
Bubbly with ripe berry flavors. Yum.
One I haven’t tried but sounds promising:
Ironstone Xpression
According to the description, crisp with berry and vanilla flavors.
So what do you have with rosé?
A weekend brunch. Things that are salty or spicy. Mexican food. Fried chicken. BBQ chicken (I can vouch for the magic of this pairing, friends.)
