I am still wine-less.
TRISTE! (That's French for sad. Imagine me shouting that from the SE offices. Or at least my office. Hold on, let me close the door..)
TRISTE!
I'm caught in the limbo of not-being-moved-into-my-house yet. TRISTE!
So I'll think about all the stuff I'll buy to stock my new house..
- Bubbly! I mean, you have to celebrate, right? And you at home, you're celebrating, too, right? You could celebrate that it's Tuesday, not Monday (or whatever day of the week you read this.) Celebrate that your A/C is working. Celebrate a graduation. Or just celebrate it's the end of the day!
Mumm Napa is $6 off. Moët & Chandon is $8 off, if you're REALLY celebrating.
- Ironstone, the July Wine of the Month. You save $1 with this month's coupon. I'd like to try Xpression, because it's fairly new and sounds refreshing on a hot Sacto summer day.
- Some of that Dixon Double Diamond corn - and a good Chardonnay (under or around $10 – I’m a homeowner now, gotta watch that budget!) to go with it.
Like Chateau St. Jean ($12), Rodney Strong ($10) or Sterling Vintner’s Collection ($9).
Or La Crema – not exactly $10 (more like $17), but $7 off and you know I can’t resist that!
- My favorite Zin is on sale! Montevina Terra d’Oro is $13. Now if I could just get our Smart Wine Guy to mark down the Montevina Terra d’Oro Deaver Ranch (think single vineyard – so yummtastic. But not in my budget right now. TRISTE!)
Want to splurge on Zin? Try the Klinker Brick Old Ghost Zin - $10 off its regular price. Not cheap, but totally worth it for the Ziniacs. And hey the three R’s of Zinfandel are on sale this week: Renwood, Ravenswood and Rosenblum.
One thing you might have noticed: Some of the wines I’m talking about being on sale aren’t in the current wine tab. That’s why you have to cruise the wine aisle(s) and check out the sale tags, wine friends!
