Now I love a beer in the summer as much as the next gal (cue shameless plug for Pyramid for the last time – on sale for just another week – 12 pack for $10.99), but there’s something to be said for wine at your holiday ‘cue or picnic.
As pointed out a few weeks, bubbly is always good (and you don’t need to remember a corkscrew either.)
Or you can opt for a wine with a screw-top/screw-cap – and yes, there are good ones. (Personal experience tip: Dry your hands before trying to open a screw-top or it’s going to be a long day/evening.)
Even if you choose for the corkscrew, there’s a whole bunch of great wines to choose from for under $10, from Trinchero to Smoking Loon.
One more personal experience tip: If you choose to serve wine and it’s hot, make sure to keep even your reds on ice. Having poured at wine events on hot days, I can tell you that red wine is not cute when exposed to a lot of heat. (No wine is, but you just don’t want your wine to be angry at you, right?)
And next Wednesday, we’ll have a whole new wine tab to talk about, y’all. (Our Smart Wine Guy is thinking global and some of my favorite wines are on sale..woohoo!)
