One of the magical experiences of working at Raley’s is that I know what’s going to be on sale ahead of time.

And then I forget until I get the ad in my mailbox like everybody else (we work so many weeks ahead, you see).

What am I looking forward to picking up now that Mr. Mailman has jogged my memory?

Chalone Pinot Noir – a great Pinot from Monterey, where the cool climate helps coax an extra-tasty Pinot.

Or you could pick up Charles Krug Napa Cab. (I already have some at home, but won’t let that stand in my way of buying some more.) I highly – HIGHLY – recommend it with Denhay Farm Cheddar Cheese in our Deli.

Now I know that the cheese isn’t cheap, but oh…you just haven’t had a fine Cheddar until you’ve had it. It’s all creamy, melt-in-your-mouth Cheddar bliss. Num num num.

(If you want to splurge on the cheese and not the wine, try it with Trinchero Cab. Or split the price and go with Louis M. Martini.)

Or just buy the cheese. After all, you’ve got all month to buy a great wine, right?
