The Beauty of Basil

Basil can add a spicy accent to anything, from cocktails to sauces to entrées. Pick some out of your garden (or pick up some from our store) and try your hand at these 20 dishes.

Ingredients
2 (15-oz.) cans small white beans
1 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
1/2 tbsp. minced fresh garlic
3 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
2 tbsp. chopped fresh basil
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
Fresh basil leaves
Dare Breton Crackers
Cherry tomato wedges
Directions
Prep Time: 10 minutes

Drain and rinse beans and place in a food processor bowl. Add lemon juice and garlic and puree. With the motor running, slowly pour in olive oil; process until smooth. Stir in basil, salt and pepper. Place in a decorative bowl and garnish with fresh basil leaves. Serve with Breton Crackers and cherry tomato wedges.

Makes 12 appetizer servings.
