yummy recipes. (Don't worry - we didn't
forget the fries and shakes!)
12 strips bacon
1 medium onion, peeled and sliced
8 oz. mushrooms, sliced
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
6 frozen hamburger patties
6 slices Swiss cheese
6 potato, onion or Kaiser rolls, split
Lettuce and tomato slices (optional)
Dijonnaise or spicy brown mustard
Directions
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 25 minutes
Cook bacon in a large skillet until very crisp; remove and drain on paper towels. Discard all but 2 tbsp. bacon grease. Add onion to pan and cook for 5 minutes over medium heat. Add mushrooms and cook for about 5 to 10 minutes more or until mushrooms are cooked. When cooked, stir in garlic salt. Meanwhile, place patties on a grill over medium hot coals and cook for about 3 to 4 minutes per side or until cooked to an internal temperature of 160°F. While patties are still hot, top each with a cheese slice and set aside. Toast buns on grill, if desired. To serve, place a cheeseburger on the bottom of each roll; top each with 2 slices bacon and equal amounts of mushrooms and onions. If desired, add lettuce and tomatoes and serve with a hearty mustard.
Makes 6 servings.
