You've surely noticed the changing weather these last couple of weeks as the heat of summer fades into the crisp chill of fall. If you're like us, this transition marks the perfect time to shake up your menu at home! Here are a couple of products that we think will take your fall cooking to the next level.

 

Grains

Our all natural grains are high in protein, fiber, vitamins and minerals, and they make a perfect substitute for rice in just about any dish. Plus, these grains are much faster to prepare than rice – they all cook in ten minutes or less! They make great additions to soups and stews as well. There are five varieties to choose from, including Bulgur & Quinoa Mix, Basmati Rice Oats & Lentils, Italian Farro Mix, Barley Peas & Lentils, and a special Five Grains mix. All in all, Raley's Grains make a super healthy and convenient addition to any meal.

 

Infused Broths

Fall is a great time to start breaking out broths, and our new Infused Broths are an even more flavorful gourmet alternative to the traditional broths you've always used. Each of Raley's Infused Broths is cooked with a carefully selected combination of ingredients that infuse them with a burst of flavor. Try all four all natural flavors: Chicken & Chipotle, Chicken Lime & Chili, Chicken & Garlic, and Beef Garlic & Onion. Each variety adds a special note of flavor to whatever dish you're preparing. And guess what…these broths go great with our grains! They are also perfect for soups, stews and casseroles.

 

You can try our grains in our recipe for Southern Grains and Greens:

Cook 1 (8.8-oz.) package Raley's 5 Grains in 2 cups vegetable stock, covered, for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand for 10 minutes. While grains are cooking, saute 1½ cups chopped onion in 2 tbsp. butter until soft in a large pot. Stir in 1 (15-oz.) can S&W Louisiana Style Red Beans, 1 (5-oz.) package Raley’s Tri Pepper Dice (in our Produce Dept.) and 2 tsp. Cajun seasoning and cook for a few minutes more. Stir in hot grains and 2 cups coarsely chopped mustard greens. Makes 6 servings.

srutz - I checked in the system. The Placerville store does have them all - they just sold a few bags this week. The Quick Grains are in near the rice and the pasta in small packages in these varieties: Raley's Italian Farro Mix, Raley's Bulgur & Quinoa, Raley's Five Grain Mix, Raley's Barley, Peas & Lentils
