Community Involvement:  Northern Nevada Stores Support Sweet Fundraiser
Local Fundraiser Helped Send 8,000 Shoes to Orphans in Kenya

Students throughout Northern Nevada helped collect 8,000 shoes and socks to send to orphaned children in Kenya.  Raley's Nevada stores showed their support for the cause by participating in a local fundraiser, Sweets at the Beach, along with many restaurants, bakeries and top pastry chefs in the area.

The funds raised through Sweets at the Beach benefit Think Kindness, an organization that will personally deliver the thousands of socks and shoes to children in need while filming a documentary to capture the experience.

Several employees from our Reno area stores provided hundreds of bite-sized treats, including samples of our Key Lime Cheesecake – which proved to be quite refreshing in the summer heat. One customer exclaimed, "I'm from Miami and I know Key Lime Pie – this is GREAT!"

What a sweet way to help make an impact across the world. A special thanks to our Reno-area employees for helping out and promoting our latest Bakery delights: Brad Poalillo, Kristen Scurry, Melissa Cochran, Grace Tyler, Christy Nielsen, Randi Siebert, Fil Dena and Charles Hunt.
