From June 6-12, PepsiCo donated 10 cents of every participating product purchase to benefit Raley’s Food For Families program. Our customers were able to choose from 24 participating products that ranged from orange juice to cereal, and many other everyday products. This week-long promotion raised a total of $55,516.60 to feed the hungry in our communities, during the time of year that many need it most.
The month of June is recognized as National Hunger Awareness Month because the summer months are a challenging time for many food banks. With the absence of school lunch programs and inventory from holiday food drives dwindling, food banks are in great need of donations.
Raley’s Food For Families program has raised more than $27 million and 17 million pounds of food through vendor partnerships, our annual holiday bag campaign and customer donations at checkstands. Raley’s absorbs all administrative fees to ensure that 100% of donations go directly to local food banks. The funds raised through our partnership with PepsiCo will benefit 72 food banks throughout Northern California and Nevada.
