Raley's Reveals New Line of Reusable Bags
New Recyclable Bags Add Another Option When Shopping
(Monday July 2, 2007)
WEST SACRAMENTO, CA - Grocery shopping just got a little more environmentally friendly with new innovations for reusable bags. Although Raley's has offered canvas tote bags as an alternative to the everyday paper and plastic for some years now, a brand new line of reusable bags is now available in all California and Nevada Raley's, Bel Air, Nob Hill Foods and Food Source stores.
Raley's now offers reusable bags made of non-woven polypropylene, a recyclable material that will last through many trips to and from the grocery store. Customers can find these sturdy, reusable bags on display in all California and Nevada stores for only $0.99 each.
Some of the many benefits of non-woven polypropylene include:
Raley's also encourages customers to reuse their bags with a successful five-cent rebate program. When a customer reuses any kind of bag, they receive 5 cents back per bag used to pack groceries during that shopping trip. Every store also has recycling bins where customers are invited to discard their clean, empty plastic bags.
All of Raley's paper, plastic and polypropylene grocery bags have recyclable logos on the bottom of each one and can therefore be recycled.
