Fine Produce:  Gee Whiz, These Apples Are Good
Ever notice a “Gee Whiz” sticker on your fruit?

Here’s the story:
One day company founder Grady Auvil and a friend were in the orchard talking about a new variety of peach Auvil Fruit Company was growing. The friend said, “Grady, when people eat your fruit, they say, ‘Gee whiz, that is a good piece of fruit.’”

And it stuck. Literally.

We’ve had a special relationship with the folks at Auvil since the 1970s and they set aside their biggest and best apples just for us.

In addition, the company is one of Raley’s premier Agri Check® growers. Raley’s exclusive Agri Check program certifies crops with no detected pesticide residue above 0.05 ppm.

What’s the best way to enjoy Auvil apples?

Out of hand, of course!

But we also like them in:

Smoky Apple Turkey Burgers

Cranberry, Apple and Jicama Salad

Chicken, Bacon and Aged Gouda Salad

Tip: Rub your cut apples with lemon juice to prevent them from turning brown for a few hours.
