Sweet Pear Tamales
8 large dried corn husks (on the ethnic foods aisle)
1/2 cup butter softened
2 cups masa for tamales (on the ethnic foods aisle)
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tsp. each: baking powder and cinnamon
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1½ to 2 cups pear nectar (near the non-refrigerated bottled juice)
2 firm but ripe Elliot Family Pears peeled, pitted and diced
Serve with a dollop of sour cream and a sprinkle of brown sugar, if you like.

1. Place corn husks in a large bowl of hot water. Place a plate on top to keep them submerged; let stand for at least 15 minutes.
