South Sea Spritzers for a Crowd

South Sea Spritzers for a Crowd
1 cup pineapple juice
1 cup guava juice
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brandy
1/2 cup lemon juice
1 (750-ml.) bottle Champagne or sparkling wine
1 liter club soda
Basil leaves, lemon slices, pineapple slices (optional garnishes)

Prep: 10 to 15 minutes, Serves: 16

1. Simmer pineapple and guava juices with sugar for 10 minutes, stirring to dissolve sugar; cool.

2. Transfer juice mixture to a large pitcher. Add brandy and lemon juice. May prepare ahead and refrigerate overnight. At serving, add Champagne and club soda. Garnish with basil leaves, lemon slices or pineapple slices if you like.
