1/2 tsp. ground cardamom
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
3 lbs. tart green apples peeled, cored and sliced 1/4-inch thick
2 tbsp. flour
2/3 cup flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 cup butter melted
1/2 cup walnuts chopped

Prep: 20 minutes Cook: about 1 hour Serves: 8

1. Preheat oven to 425°F. Line a 9-inch pie dish with pastry dough, turn under excess dough and flute decoratively.
2. Bring Drambuie, honey, butter and spices to a boil in a small saucepan; reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring frequently. Place apples in a large bowl and stir in Drambuie mixture; stir in flour.
3. Pile into pastry lined dish. To prepare topping, stir together flour, brown sugar, sugar and cinnamon in a medium bowl with a fork. Drizzle with butter and gently stir until small pieces are formed. Stir
in walnuts, then cover apples with mixture.
4. Bake for 10 minutes, then reduce heat to 350°F and bake for 50 minutes more, tenting with foil if top browns too quickly. Pie is best served the same day it’s made.

I created an account on this site just to warn everyone THAT THIS RECIPE DOESN'T WORK. It's a waste of ingredients. The sauce is thick like soft ball stage candy and will seize immediately when added to the apples. I wasted $$ and time with this and created an account on this site just to warn folks not to use this recipe.
