The way this is worded it sounds as if you make the ENTIRE recipe for Classic Mac n Cheese, then you add the eggs, half n half, cheese and bacon to the mac n cheese(with alfredo, broth, cheese, etc.) Is this correct?

Yes, that is correct. Thanks!

Don't bother attempting this! I've been questioning the SAME thing! I'm trying to make this for a party now and totally confused...but agreed to try it! First, I think the amount of macaroni is incorrect. I did the Classic Mac & Cheese and then went back and added the egg & milk (perhaps a binding agent?) but it was watery. I'm now making the remaining box of macaroni to add to it. I'll post more if it turns out OK or not.

I thought adding more pasta made it heavier. I would follow the recipe exactly next time although I did get rave reviews!

I have made this several times and it was a huge hit. the original recipe that was printed in the magazine had some alternate recipes for the mac n' cheese. I made it with Alfredo sauce and it is way better...
