Balsamic and Herb Shallots
Balsamic and Herb Shallots
2 tbsp. butter
1/2 lb. shallots
1 ea large clove garlic
McCormick Sea Salt and McCormick Black Peppercorns
2 tbsp. white balsamic vinegar
2 tsp. fresh herbs: such as rosemary, thyme, basil
4 ea cooked chicken breasts or steaks
Prep time: 10 minutes, Cook time: 45 minutes

Preheat oven to 400°F. Place butter, shallots and garlic in a 1-quart shallow baking dish; season with 4 grinds each of salt and pepper. Cook for 40 minutes, stirring occasionally, until shallots are very soft. Sprinkle with vinegar and herbs and cook for 5 minutes more. Serve over cooked chicken or steak.

Makes 4 servings.
