Irish Soda Bread

Irish Soda Bread
4 cups flour
1-⅓ cup raisins
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. dill seeds (optional)
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
2 cups buttermilk

 Prep: 10 minutes, Cook: 45 minutes, Makes: 2 loaves

1. Preheat oven to 350ºF. Mix together all ingredients except buttermilk. Add buttermilk and blend with a fork. Place dough on a heavily floured board; knead for about 2 minutes.

2. Shape into 2 rounds; place on a greased baking pan. Cut a deep cross into the top of each loaf; bake for 45 minutes or until lightly browned and sounds hollow when tapped.
