Turmeric Rice with Raisins
Turmeric Rice with Raisins
Ingredients
2 cups Raley's Chicken Stock
1 tbsp. butter
2 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. turmeric
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
1 cup long grain white rice
1/2 cup raisins
1 tsp. finely grated lemon zest
Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
Directions

Turmeric, from the ginger family, adds a beautiful yellow color to this dish. It’s used to add color as well as flavor.

Prep: 10 minutes, Cook: 20 minutes, Stand: 5 minutes, Serves: 4 to 6

1. Bring stock, butter, sugar, turmeric, cinnamon and salt to a boil in a medium saucepan. Stir in rice; cover and simmer over low heat for 20 minutes.

2. Remove from heat and let stand for 5 minutes, then stir in raisins and lemon zest. Season to taste with pepper.
