Perry's Cheesecake Marble Brownies

Perry's Cheesecake Marble Brownies
1 (8- oz.) box semi-sweet chocolate
1/2 cup butter
2 cups sugar divided
4 eggs divided
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups plus 2 tbsp. flour divided
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 (8- oz.) package cream cheese softened
Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 40 minutes

Preheat oven to 375°F and spray a 13-by-9-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Melt chocolate and butter in the microwave or over very low heat in a small saucepan; set aside to cool slightly. In a large bowl, beat together 1 1/4 cups sugar, 3 eggs and vanilla until well blended. Stir in chocolate mixture then 1 1/2 cups flour, baking powder and salt. Spread batter into prepared dish. In a separate bowl, beat together cream cheese, remaining 3/4 cup sugar and remaining egg. Swirl cream cheese mixture throughout brownie batter with the tip of a knife. Bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool completely before cutting into squares.

Makes 24 brownies.
