Pasta with Broccoli in Garlic Sauce

Pasta with Broccoli in Garlic Sauce
8 oz. whole wheat pasta
4 cups fresh broccoli florets or frozen broccoli florets thawed
1/4 cup Take Control Spread (Regular or Light)
1/2 cup red bell pepper chopped
1 ea small onion or 1 large shallot finely chopped
4 ea cloves garlic finely chopped
2 tbsp. flour
1 (14.5- oz.) can Health Valley low-sodium chicken broth
Salt and pepper (optional)
Parmesan cheese Grated
fresh basil Sliced
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 20 minutes

Cook pasta according to package directions, adding broccoli during the last 3 minutes; drain. Meanwhile, in a 12-inch nonstick skillet, melt Take Control Spread over medium-high heat; cook red pepper, onion and garlic, stirring frequently, for 3 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Stir in flour and cook, stirring frequently, for 1 minute. Stir in broth and, if desired, salt and pepper to taste. Bring to a boil over high heat and boil for 30 seconds. To serve, toss sauce with hot pasta and broccoli and sprinkle with cheese and basil.

Makes 4 servings.
