Grilled Sausage Sandwich with Caramelized Onions
4 tbsp. butter divided
1 large onion peeled and thinly sliced
4 Aidells Fully Cooked Chicken & Apple Sausages
8 Old World Style Pota to Rosemary Bread large 1/2-inch thick slices
4 slices Swiss Cheese sliced
1 tbsp. Nob Hill Trading Co. Whole Grain Mustard
Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 45 minutes

Melt 2 tbsp. butter in a large skillet. Add onion; cook and stir over medium-low heat until very soft, about 30 minutes. (This may be done ahead and refrigerated until ready to use.) Cut sausages in half lengthwise and place in a medium skillet. Cook over medium heat for 3 to 5 minutes per side or until heated through. Spread remaining 2 tbsp. butter on one side of bread slices; place buttered side down in a large skillet. Lay cheese slices on half of the bread and spread mustard on the other half. Cook over medium-low heat until cheese is melted and the bottom of the bread is golden brown. Place caramelized onions and sausages over the cheese and top with remaining bread. Serve immediately.
