Apple Pecan Spread

Apple Pecan Spread
1/2 cup butter
1 Medium apple, peeled, cored and chopped
1 cup pecan pieces
2 tbsp. pure maple syrup
1 tsp. cinnamon

Prep: 10 minutes, Cook: 10 to 15 minutes, Makes: about 1¼ cup

1. Melt butter in a medium skillet over medium heat. Add apple and cook for 10 to 15 minutes or until very soft, stirring frequently. Stir in pecans, syrup and cinnamon and let cool. 

2. Puree in a small blender or food processor until fairly smooth.* Serve on waffles, pancakes, toast or biscuits.

*Use caution when blending hot liquids. Hold blender lid down with a kitchen towel while blender is running.
