Mexican Hot Chocolate Sauce
Mexican Hot Chocolate Sauce
1 (4- oz.) bar Ghirardelli 60% Cacao Dark Chocolate or other dark chocolate
1/3 cup heavy cream
2 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. coffee liqueur
2 tbsp. light corn syrup
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
Break chocolate into pieces. Combine with heavy cream and butter in a microwave-safe bowl; microwave on HIGH for about 1 minute, stirring every 20 seconds. When butter and chocolate are melted, stir in remaining ingredients. Serve warm over vanilla, chocolate or coffee ice cream. Sprinkle with additional cinnamon, if you like.
