Rustic Grape Tart
Rustic Grape Tart
4 cups seedless grapes
3 tbsp. each: sugar and cornstarch
1/2 tsp. each: ground cardamom and ground ginger
1/4 tsp. salt
1 refrigerated pie crust
1/4 cup each: chopped walnuts and brown sugar
2 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. milk
Prep time: 15 minutes,
Cook time: 30 to 35 minutes

Preheat oven to 375°F. Stir together grapes, sugar, cornstarch, spices and salt in a medium bowl; mix well. Unroll crust and place on a large baking sheet. Mound grape mixture in center of pastry, leaving a 3-inch border. Lift edges of dough up and over grapes, leaving grapes showing in the center; fold edges of pastry to contain grapes. Mix together walnuts, brown sugar and butter in a small bowl; sprinkle over grapes. Brush pastry with milk. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until pastry is golden brown and filling is bubbly. Let stand 15 minutes before cutting.

Makes 6 to 8 servings.
