Apple, Onion and Gorgonzola Pizza

Apple, Onion and Gorgonzola Pizza
1 tbsp. butter
1 small onion, thinly sliced
2 individual pizza crusts
1 cup Raley's Shredded Italian Blend Cheese
1/2 small green apple, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
1/4 cup crumbled Gorgonzola cheese
2 tbsp. chopped walnuts
Fresh thyme, chopped

Prep: 10 minutes, Cook: 32 to 35 minutes, Serves: 2

1. Melt butter in a medium skillet. Add onion; sauté for 20 minutes, stirring frequently, until very soft.

2. Preheat oven to 425°F and place pizza crusts on a baking sheet. Top with cheese, onions, apple, Gorgonzola and walnuts in that order.

3. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes; remove from oven and sprinkle with thyme.

Wine Suggestion
A red blend, or bold red wine like Zinfandel or Tempranillo to match the bold flavors of the Gorgonzola.

This is not new. Recipe updated from several years ago that also had figs and a drizzle of olive oil to finish. I also add chopped cooked leftover chicken. This is to die for. 5 stars for sure!!!
