Sweet Banana Squash with Pears

Sweet Banana Squash with Pears
1-1/4 lb. banana squash peeled and evenly cut into 1/4-inch thick slices
2 ripe but firm Bartlett pears peeled, cored and sliced
2 tbsp. butter melted
2 tbsp. brown sugar
2 tbsp. maple syrup
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/8 tsp. ground ginger
Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 10 to 15 minutes

Place squash and pears in an 11-by-7-inch glass baking dish. Cover with plastic wrap and microwave on HIGH for 6 to 8 minutes or until squash and pears are tender. Holding the dish with a towel, carefully turn back a corner of the plastic wrap and drain off any liquid. Stir together remaining ingredients in a small bowl and drizzle over squash. Let stand for a few minutes before serving.

Makes 8 servings.
