Grilled Cheddar, Caramelized Onion and Beef Sandwiches
Grilled Cheddar, Caramelized Onion and Beef Sandwiches
Ingredients
2 1/2 tbsp. butter divided
2 cups mushrooms sliced
1/2 lb. roast beef (in our Deli) very thinly sliced
1/3 cup HP Steak and Chop Sauce
8 (1/2-inch) thick slices European Style Potato Rosemary Bread
1 cup shredded Abbot's Gold Cheddar Cheese with Caramelized Onions (in our Deli)
Directions
Prep time: 10 minutes, Cook time: 15 minutes

Melt 1 tbsp. butter in a medium skillet. Add mushrooms and
cook for 5 minutes or until almost cooked through. Add beef
and steak sauce; cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes
or until heated through. Spread remaining butter on 1 side
of each bread slice and place buttered side down on a
cutting board. Press equal amounts of cheese on bread
slices, then pile beef mixture on half of the slices;
carefully close sandwiches. Cook in a large skillet for 5
minutes on each side or until bread is lightly browned and
cheese is melted.

Makes 4 servings.
Wine Suggestion
Merlot - Choose one with enough power to complement, but not overwhelm our intensely flavored sandwiches.
