Baked Anise with Prosciutto
2 bulbs anise greens trimmed
3 cloves garlic minced
1/4 cup butter melted
1/3 cup Marsala wine
1/4 cup bite-size prosciutto strips lightly packed
Salt and freshly ground pepper
2 tbsp. fresh basil chopped
1 wedge fresh Parmesan cheese
Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 20 minutes

Preheat oven to 425°F. Trim away stem ends of anise. Place cut side down on cutting board and slice very thinly. Place in a 13-by-9-inch baking dish and sprinkle with garlic. Drizzle with butter and Marsala, then top with prosciutto. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Bake for about 20 minutes or until anise is soft and prosciutto is crisp. Remove from oven and sprinkle with basil. With a vegetable peeler, cut large shavings of cheese over dish.
