Hansel and Griddle Cakes

Hansel and Griddle Cakes
2 (5.2- oz.) packages Jimmy Dean Heat 'n Serve Maple Sausage Links
2 1/2 cups Kodiak Cakes Flapjack & Waffle Mix
2 1/4 cups warm water
1/4 cup maple syrup plus additional for topping, if you like (we prefer real maple syrup for its rich flavor)
1 envelope active dry yeast
1 egg
1/4 cup powdered sugar, for dusting
The yeast in this recipe gives our cakes
a tangy taste and light, airy texture.

Prep time: 5 minutes, Stand time: 20 minutes Cook
time: 10 minutes

Cook sausage links according to package
directions; keep warm. Stir together flapjack mix,
water, syrup, yeast and egg in a large bowl just until
combined; let stand for 20 minutes. Place a large
skillet over medium-low heat and coat with butter
flavored nonstick cooking spray. Pour a scant 1/3
cup batter into hot skillet for each pancake and
cook for 2 to 3 minutes on each side, spraying
skillet with cooking spray between batches. Wrap a
pancake around each sausage link, place seam-
side down on a serving platter and dust with
powdered sugar. Serve with additional maple syrup,
if desired.

Makes about 16 pancakes.
