Chipotle Baked Cheese
Chipotle Baked Cheese
1/4 cup pine nuts OR
1/4 cup coarsely chopped walnuts OR
1/4 cup coarsely chopped pecans
1 (8- oz.) package cream cheese
1 cup Frontera Chipotle Salsa
fresh cilantro (for garnish) chopped

 Prep: 10 minutes, Cook: 10 to 15 minutes, Makes: 6 to 8 servings

1. Toast nuts in a 350°F oven for 7 to 8 minutes; transfer to a medium bowl. Stir in cream cheese, then shape into a disk and place in a small baking dish.

2. Pour salsa over cheese and bake for 10 to 15 minutes or until heated through. Sprinkle with chopped fresh cilantro and serve with toasted bread or crackers.

Tip: If you use lowfat cream cheese, you can save 40 calories and 6 grams of fat!

Made again on 7/25/09 with Artzs. Excellent appetizer and so easy to make! Keeps for a few days in fridge. Have always used low-fat cream cheese and it still tastes wonderful!
