Grilled Sweet Plantains

Grilled Sweet Plantains
4 ripe plantains
2 limes halved
1/4 cup packed dark brown sugar (for sprinkling)
Use plantains that have turned black (that's
when they are at their sweetest). If there
are no black ones available, buy green or
yellow ones and store in a paper bag until
they ripen and turn black. Don't have time to
wait? Use ripe bananas instead!

Prep time: 5 minutes
Cook time: 10 minutes

Grill plantains over medium-high heat for about 10
minutes, turning occasionally. Remove from grill and
let cool slightly. Make a small lengthwise slit in the
peel to expose fruit. Serve each with a lime half and
pass a bowl of brown sugar for sprinkling.

Makes 4 servings.
