Chunky Honey Applesauce
Chunky Honey Applesauce
Ingredients
3 lbs. tart cooking apples (such as GrannySmith or pippin)
1/2 cup honey
Directions
1. Peel apples and cut into chunks.
2. Put in a medium saucepan with honey.
3. Bring mixture to a boil. Reduce heat to low and cover pot.
4. Cook for 30 minutes or until apples are very soft.
5. Using a fork or a potato masher, break up apples. Let cool, then refrigerate
until ready to serve.


Variations:
Apricot: Stir in 2/3 cup no sugar all fruit apricot spread or preserves after
mashing.

Very Berry: Stir in 2 cups fresh or frozen mixed berries at the beginning of the
cooking.

Cinnamon Stick: Add 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon.

Spicy Cinnamon: Stir in 2 tbsp. red hot cinnamon candies after mashing

Makes 8 servings.
