We promote food literacy and sustainability with grants to K-12 schools.
During the fires, Raley’s mobilized to aid in the Carr Fire, providing food and water to nearby shelters and first responders. Raley’s community team and Bill Webb, a Raley’s store team leader at the Redding location and a longtime member of the Redding community, presented this check to the foundation.
Raley's supports the Field Trips on the Farm Program. “This program helps students gain an understanding of the process to get food from the farm to their lunch boxes,” said Melanee Cottrill, associate director with California Farmland Trust, adding that it gives students an appreciation for the farmland that surrounds them.
Raley’s in partnership with United Way, gave a generous grant to Robla School District for the Glenwood Elementary students to enjoy an amazing day full of new experiences at Fiery Ginger Farms. Students were able to interact with goats, learned how to harvest potatoes, and even were able to help plant the next crop of radishes!
Through the ROOT community gardens, the Kings and Raley’s will connect young adults, families, and non-profits that assist thousands with fresh, locally sourced produce while also growing the next generation of healthy eaters.
On Sept, 5th, in partnership with the Sacramento River Cats, we were proud to present the Yolo Food Bank with the donation results of "Strike Out Hunger," where Raley's donated $3 per strikeout at Raley Field this season!
Our team is on the scene when a community is facing a natural disaster or other emergency.
