Planning a holiday dinner, yet unsure of where to start with wine pairings? While many varietals work well with each of the proteins below, here’s a quick cheat sheet to help you find a good match within any budget.
Turkey
This holiday favorite pairs well with Syrah, Zinfandel or Riesling. Or try it with Bonterra Chardonnay.
Ham
Generally pairs with Rosé, Grenache or Moscato. Great with Baileyana Firepeak Pinot Noir, too.
Beef
Try it with Cabernet, Merlot or Barolo. The Rosso di Montalcino il Poggione Sangiovese is also an excellent choice.
Lamb
Rioja, Chianti or Rhône are good choices. Nine Hats Cabernet Sauvignon goes well with lamb as well.
Seafood
Pairs well with Pinot Gris, Barbera or Chardonnay. Also try it with J.J. Vincent Pouilly-Fuissé Marie Antoinette.
