Honey Sesame Shrimp

Honey, basmati rice and toasted sesame seeds’ sweetness are balanced with savory soy sauce and green onions in this delicious sautéed shrimp dish that’s quick and easy.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz. EZ peel shrimp 41/50 (or peeled and deveined)
  • 2 tsp. toasted sesame seeds
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 2 cups Veetee pre-cooked basmati rice
  • 4 tsp. soy sauce*
  • 1 1/2 tsp. olive oil*
  • 1 tsp. garlic*
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. honey*
  • 1 tbsp. water*
  • 1/8 tsp. salt*
  • 1 pinch ground pepper*
  • *common pantry item

Instructions

  1. Peel shrimp. Toss shrimp, garlic and 1/2 tsp. of olive oil in a medium bowl.
  2. Heat remaining olive oil in a medium skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp, salt and black pepper and cook for 1 1/2 minutes.
  3. Lower heat to medium; add soy sauce, honey, water, sesame seeds and 3 Tbsp. green onion. Stir and heat for one minute.
  4. Heat rice according to package instructions.
  5. Serve shrimp over hot rice. Garnish with remaining green onion.
