Ingredients
- 1/4 lb. Virginia Ham, thick slice, cut into strips
- 3/4 cups Raley's Frozen Peas
- 1 cup sliced yellow onion
- 1 pkg. 8.5 oz. Barilla Ready Pasta, Rotini
- 4 tbsp. parmesan cheese, shredded
- 1 tsp. garlic*
- 1 1/2 tsp. olive oil*
- 1/8 tsp. salt*
- 1/8 tsp. ground black pepper*
- 2 tbsp. water*
- 1/4 tsp. red pepper flake* (optional)
- *common pantry item
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large sauté pan over high heat. Add sliced onions, salt and pepper and lower to medium to medium high heat. Cook onions for 7-8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they become translucent and begin to brown.
- Add garlic and ham. Stir and cook for 2 minutes.
- Meanwhile, heat precooked pasta according to package instructions. Add pasta, peas, water and 3 tbsp. parmesan to the pan. Stir and cook for 1 1/2 minutes.
- Divide between 2 plates, garnish with remaining parmesan and red pepper flakes (optional).
