Raley’s Gardnerville Store Director Granted Annual Award
By Amy Johnston | Tuesday June 19, 2007
WEST SACRAMENTO, CA – Raley’s Gardnerville, NV Store Director Hank Paxson was awarded the company’s highest honor on June 14 during Raley’s annual meeting in Sacramento, CA. Paxson was selected as this year’s recipient of the President’s Club Award, which celebrates the company’s exemplary Store Directors.
Given the tough assignment of taking over as Director at the Gardnerville store after a beloved 30-year Director retired, Hank not only continued his predecessor’s legacy of success, but he’s even grown the crew’s accomplishments in many areas. He’s most likely been successful at motivating his crew because Hank considers himself “one of the team,” and constantly lends a helping hand, doing what it takes to get the job done. Hank has worked hard to mentor his management staff toward continuous improvement. A renewed emphasis on high quality service has his store earning company awards for achievements in both customer service and safety.
“We are thrilled to honor Hank with this award, as his leadership at the Gardnerville store has led the crew to earn multiple service and safety awards at the company level,” said Raley’s President and CEO Bill Coyne. “He maintains a successful balance between work, family and community involvement.”
While dedicated to his store and crew, Hank is also committed family man. He is an avid softball player, previously voted California Player of the Year. He has turned his talents toward coaching, leading his 11-year-old daughter’s youth league fast pitch team. Hank also serves on the Board of Directors for the local softball league.
Nominations for the President’s Club came from Raley’s District Managers and were based on the nominee’s level of professionalism, community involvement, major accomplishments, work/life balance and achievement of Raley’s vision, mission and values. Raley’s vision is to “enhance the quality of people’s lives” and its mission is to be “the place customers love to shop and employees love to work.”
Also nominated for the President’s Club Award this year were Steve Fischlin of Bel Air in Elk Grove, John Phillips of Bel Air in Cameron Park and Rick Stone of Raley’s in Stockton.
