Nob Hill Foods Opens to Alameda Community

Brings Array of Health and Wellness Options and Busy Lifestyle Solutions

Nob Hill Foods is bringing its signature health and wellness offerings and prepared foods and convenient services to Alameda, opening the doors to its brand-new store at 6 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 21. The grand opening event, with speeches from local dignitaries and a ribbon-cutting ceremony, is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. and followed by entertainment and food sampling. There will be events and giveaways that evening and throughout the following weekend so customers can visit and enjoy what Nob Hill has to offer.

“We are extremely proud of this new store,” said Raley’s President & CEO, Bill Coyne. “From its unique architecture and design to its offerings, we’re sure that Alameda has never before experienced a supermarket like this one.”

The 58,977-square-foot store is opening with a number of amenities to meet the needs of the Alameda community.

For the Health Conscious:
Well for Life, a concept throughout many parts of the store, encouraging healthy living
Natural Foods Department, a signature department featuring natural supplements; organic offerings; bulk nuts, grains, flour and snacks; and a knowledgeable staff to answer customers’ questions
Produce Department, offering the best in AgriCheck certified produce and organic produce
Pharmacy, professionally dispensing medication and advice 7 days a week

For the Busy:
Ready-to-Eat Prepared Foods, featuring a Gourmet Sandwich Shop, a Gourmet Cheese Island with hundreds of cheeses, a Soup Kiosk, chef-prepared Sushi and Sizzling Wok Chinese food
Java City Café, serving specialty coffee drinks made to order
Self-checkout lanes, Four do-it-yourself stands give customers another option
First Community Bank, an in-store branch offering customers great convenience, open 6 days a week
Guest Services Center, including a U.S. Post Office, camera counter and other helpful services
Coming Soon:
ecart, convenient online shopping with drive-thru pick up
Aisle 1 Fuel Station, with six pumps that can serve 12 vehicles, as well as a convenience store and carwash (coming this spring)

Community Commitment: Nob Hill also offers its customers any easy way to give to local residents in need. The company brings a strong commitment to each community it serves with its support of Food For Families, its own non-profit charity that gathers donations year-round from customers and colleagues to help feed the hungry in the communities each store serves. One-hundred percent of donations made in Alameda will go to the local chapter of the Salvation Army.
