Raley’s Chain of Supermarkets Ranked Highly in National Consumer Magazine Survey

Third in nation for freshness, fourth for cleanliness and overall

ray2_design_extIn a year that has already been marked by an 80th anniversary and the removal of tobacco products, Raley’s Family of Fine Stores ranked among the nation’s best grocery stores in the United States according to more than 62,0000 readers surveyed by a leading national consumer magazine.  The magazine released its annual supermarket ratings of the nation’s 68 major chains for 2014.

Readers were surveyed on a variety of traditional consumer experiences including personal service and cleanliness. This year, the survey showcased the increased interest and appeal from customers for high-quality fruits, vegetables and store-made meals. Raley’s scored best among survey respondents for its freshness, noting a wide array of fresh fruits, vegetables and meat offerings. In addition, Raley’s was ranked for its cleanliness and its superior customer service.  The regional grocery chain scored third for “Freshest”, among other national chains. Overall, Raley’s scored an 84 (out of 100) which was the fourth best score among grocery chains. According to the magazine, a score of 80 or higher means that customers surveyed were “very satisfied” with their shopping experience at that grocery store.

Raley’s has a long history of offering fresh products from the source. The company’s Local 50 program partners with local farmers within 50 miles of a store location to offer fresh, local and seasonally grown products to customers.

“We are thrilled to learn of this recognition based on customer feedback,” said Chelsea Minor, Director of Public Relations and Public Affairs for Raley’s Family of Fine Stores. She added, “Raley’s focus has always been on providing our customers with the best shopping experience and offering the highest quality products, including the new demands for natural foods and organic offerings. It is gratifying to see that commitment validated in this prestigious survey.”
