Raley’s Elevates Member of Legal Department

 

Brian Lim promoted to Associate General Counsel

West Sacramento, CA— Raley’s announced the promotion of Brian Lim to Associate General Counsel. Lim most recently held the title Senior Corporate Counsel, advising Raley’s on various legal issues, including employment matters and contracts. In his expanded role, Lim will provide strategic counsel and support on legal matters including HIPAA compliance, regulatory permits, contract disputes, employment law and more.

“Brian has time and again proven himself with his ability to understand and navigate complex situations and provide wise counsel,” said Helen Singmaster, Raley’s Vice President, General Counsel. “He is the definition of a team player and not only a valued member of the legal department, but of the entire Raley’s organization.”

Lim recently completed the rigorous Food Industry Management (FIM) program at USC Marshall School of Business, an investment that was important to the leadership team at Raley’s to make in his career. Lim was the first lawyer ever admitted into this elite program in its 61-year history.

Lim is an experienced lawyer with over 10 years of practice on his résumé. He started his career as a Law Clerk for the United States Department of Justice before joining Downey Brand LLP, one of the largest firms in Sacramento, as an Employment Law Attorney. After a move to Shaw Valenza LLP as an Employment Litigation Attorney, Lim joined Raley’s in 2014 as Associate Corporate Counsel. He was previously promoted within the Raley’s legal team to Senior Corporate Counsel in 2016. 

Lim earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Policy Analysis and Planning from the University of California, Davis as well as a Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Davis School of Law.
