WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Each year, readers of Sacramento Magazine rank their favorite local hot spots, local celebrities, even the best place get a car wash in the annual “Best of Sacramento” poll.
For eight consecutive years, shoppers have named Raley’s the Best Grocery Store throughout the greater Sacramento region. In addition to receiving top honors as the greatest local market, Raley’s was also named the Best Place to Buy Fruits and Veggies. Raley’s Owner and Co-Chairman, Joyce Raley Teel, was named the Best Philanthropist. Earlier this year, The Salvation Army honored Joyce and Raley’s with the 2008 “Spirit of Giving” award for exemplary community service work and leadership. Joyce co-founded Raley’s Food For Families program in 1986, which has raised in excess of $20 million and more than 10 million pounds of dry groceries to serve local food banks.
