Sacramento Sierra Chapter to Benefit from Raley’s Fundraiser
By Amy Johnston | Wednesday August 22, 2007
WEST SACRAMENTO, CA – On Wednesday, August 22, Raley’s Family of Fine Stores presented the Sacramento Sierra Chapter of the American Red Cross with a check for $332,463 to support the ongoing relief efforts in the Tahoe area following the Angora Fire.
When Raley’s established a Tahoe Fire Fund, customers and community groups across California and Nevada immediately jumped to action to lend their support. For this company-wide donation effort, all 130 California and Nevada Raley’s, Bel Air, Nob Hill Foods and Food Source stores transitioned Food for Families donation boxes to the Tahoe Fire Relief Fund.
“Thanks to the tremendous generosity of our customers and colleagues,” said Bill Coyne, Raley’s President and CEO, “we are very pleased to contribute $332,463 to the outstanding efforts of the American Red Cross, which continues to play an integral and essential role in the Lake Tahoe fire relief work.”
“Raley’s donation is significant for the American Red Cross, Sacramento Sierra Chapter because it will allow us to develop a long term recovery program that includes community preparedness, education and training and ongoing relief in the Tahoe area,” said Red Cross CEO Julie Van Dooren.
About the Sacramento Sierra Chapter of the American Red Cross
