Bold Moves That Benefit You

To show we care about your wellness, we’ve taken concrete steps to promote healthier choices throughout our stores. And we’re not stopping here.

Shelf Guide

Our exclusive Shelf Guide uses simple, color-coded icons to help you easily find the products that align with your dietary needs. Greater labeling transparency puts our shoppers in control and helps them cut through marketing jargon. Learn more

Sugar Awareness

We’ve moved all items to the bottom shelf in our cereal aisles that are higher in added sugar. In addition, we are using shelf tags to call out which products are higher in added sugar or lower in added sugar. Learn more

Tobacco-Free Stores

As a signal of our commitment to customer health, we removed all tobacco products from our shelves in 2015. The strong correlation between tobacco use and serious health problems is one we could not ignore.

Free Fruit for Kids

All of our stores offer free fruit to kids while parents shop. Baskets of fresh fruit can be found near the entrance of each store as a nutritious snack option for children 12 and under.

“Better For You” Check Stands

We implemented “Better For You” check stands throughout our family of stores in 2016. This included removing all artificially sweetened sodas and upgrading the selection of snacks, treats and candies.

Better Beverage Options

We eliminated the production and sale of Raley’s private label brand sodas containing high-fructose corn syrup and artificial colors and flavors, including diet soda varieties. We made the move with the knowledge that consumption of high-fructose corn syrup is connected with serious health concerns, including type-2 diabetes and hypertension.
