Media Center: Press Release:  Proven HR Leader Returns to Raley's to Enhance Employees' Experience

Raley’s recently announced to employees that Mark Foley has returned to Raley’s as Senior Vice President, Human Resources & Labor Relations to help define the company’s culture and values with the employees’ voice in mind.

Mark served as a director-level human resources leader at Raley’s between 1995-2005. He was most recently Executive Vice President Human Resources and Chief People Officer for 24 Hour Fitness, the largest national fitness company.

Raley’s is known for employees who deliver excellent service and a positive and personal experience to their customers. The move to bring accomplished leadership to human resources strategy is a statement that the company is investing in the nearly 12,000 employees across Raley’s stores.

“Over the next several weeks, I will be doing a lot of listening—travelling to our stores and talking personally with employees about their experience,” Foley said. “All employees play a critical role in our success and I am committed to making the workplace meaningful for them.”

A lifetime fitness and wellness enthusiast who has a passion for cooking, Mark has roots in the grocery business, where he held his first job as a grocery bagger in high school and continued as a clerk through college. He knows, first-hand, about day-to-day grocery operations and is an advocate for a positive employee experience.

“The business climate has challenged employers and employees in recent years. Mark has a deep commitment to making the work experience better for our employees. And I am confident he will meet his personal promise,” said Mike Teel, Raley’s President & CEO.
