100% of Donations Go to the American Red Cross
(Monday March 14, 2011)

WEST SACRAMENTO, CA— Customers can give to Japan disaster relief during their stop at the grocery store, and know that 100% of their donations will go directly to the American Red Cross to help the devastated area.

Raley’s announced today that it is designating all donations to checkstand collection boxes in its 133 Raley’s, Bel Air, Nob Hill Foods and Food Source stores to Japan disaster relief, beginning Monday, March 14 through Monday, April 18.

Raley’s will absorb all administrative costs to ensure that all donations reach the victims of the devastation in Japan.

“The impact of this disaster has been absolutely catastrophic,” said Ashley Zepernick, Raley’s Spokeswoman. “We recognize the huge need for support and we want to provide our customers with an easy way to contribute and feel confident that their donations are reaching people in need.”

In March 2010, the Sacramento Sierra Chapter of the American Red Cross received a check for more than $149,000 – their largest donation – for the Haiti Relief and Development Fund on behalf of Raley’s. This money was raised by the generous donations of customers and employees.

Raley's is a privately owned supermarket chain with headquarters in West Sacramento, CA. The company is comprised of four chains — Raley's, Bel Air Markets, Nob Hill Foods and Food Source — located in Northern California and Nevada.
