Seeded Lavosh Crackers
Seeded Lavosh Crackers
3 cups flour plus extra for rolling
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. pepper
1-1/3 cups buttermilk, divided
Sesame seeds or poppy seeds

Prep: 30 minutes, Cook: 15 to 20 minutes, Serves: 10 to 12

1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Spray 2 baking sheets with nonstick cooking spray. With a pastry blender or fork, mix all ingredients except buttermilk and seeds.

2. Stir in 1 cup buttermilk until mixture forms a soft dough. Knead several times on a lightly floured board until smooth. Roll out one walnut-sized piece of dough at a time on a floured board as thinly as possible. Transfer to prepared baking sheets; brush with remaining buttermilk and sprinkle with seeds.

3. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until lightly browned. (Edges will brown faster. Just break off, remove and continue to cook the middle.) Let cool, then break into large pieces.
