Rudolph Krispie Treats
Rudolph Krispie Treats
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
1 (10.5-ounce) bag miniature marshmallows
1/2 cup peanut butter
2 tablespoons butter
5 cups crisp rice cereal (such as Rice Krispies)
1/2 cup additional chocolate chips for melting
Pretzels and small candies for creating faces
1. SPRAY a 13-by-9-inch pan with nonstick cooking
spray. Then have Mom or Dad help you pour the
first four ingredients into a large pot.

2. MELT the ingredients over low heat. Stir a lot so
that the mixture doesn't burn.

3. ADD the cereal to the pot and stir until the cereal
is covered with the marshmallow mixture.

4. SCOOP into the baking pan and let cool for a
few minutes. Then press it down hard into the pan
so that the mixture is really firm.

5. LET it stand until very cool. Cut into circles with a
3-inch round cookie cutter.

6. MELT 1/2 cup chocolate chips in a small bowl in
the microwave for about 20 seconds. Dip the ends
of the pretzels into the chocolate and press onto
the top of the circles to make antlers. Dip small
candies in the chocolate, then place on the
reindeer to make eyes, noses and mouths (don't
forget the red nose!).

Makes 12 Rudolphs, plus extra for nibbling.
