Grilled Steak Salad with Walnut Dressing
Grilled Steak Salad with Walnut Dressing
1 lb. Raley's Beef top sirloin steak California raised USDA choice
1/2 cup red wine
1 tbsp. Dijon mustard
1/2 tsp. each: salt and coarse ground pepper
2 cloves garlic minced
8 cups butter lettuce leaves
8 large cherry tomatoes halved
1/3 cup blue cheese crumbled
Savory Walnut Vinaigrette (recipe follows)
Prep time: 15 minutes, Marinate time: Several hours or overnight, Cook time: 10 minutes

Combine steak, wine, mustard, salt, pepper and garlic in a large resealable bag. Seal well and knead bag several times to mix ingredients. Refrigerate for several hours or overnight. Remove beef from marinade; grill over medium heat for about 5 minutes on each side or until beef reaches desired doneness. Let cool slightly, then thinly slice. Place lettuce in 4 salad bowls or plates. Top with beef, tomatoes and blue cheese; drizzle with vinaigrette. Savory Walnut Vinaigrette: In a blender or food processor, puree 1/3 cup walnut oil, 1/4 cup white wine vinegar, 1/4 cup toasted walnuts, 1/2 tbsp. Dijon mustard, 1/2 tsp. sugar and 1/4 tsp. salt.
