Chicagoland Italian Combo Sandwiches
Chicagoland Italian Combo Sandwiches
4 mild or hot Italian sausages
2/3 cup water
1/3 cup Johnny's French Dip Sauce
1 tsp. oregano
1 clove garlic minced
3/4 lb. thinly sliced roast beef (in our Deli)
4 French rolls, toasted
Mezzetta Italian Mix Giardiniera or Mezzetta California Hot Mix

Prep: 15 minutes, Cook: 15 minutes, Serves: 4

1. Pierce sausages in several places with a fork. Cook, covered, over
medium heat in a nonstick skillet for about 15 minutes or until browned on all
sides and cooked through; transfer to a plate and keep warm.

2. While sausages cook, combine water, French dip sauce, oregano and
garlic in a medium saucepan; cover and simmer for 10 minutes.

3. To assemble sandwiches, place sausages in toasted rolls; dip beef in hot
French dip sauce and place equal amounts on sausage. Serve with any
remaining sauce and Giardiniera mix.
